HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Twardzik’s (R-Schuylkill) bill to provide more secure health care ID badges was approved by the House Health Committee. House Bill 2604 would amend the Health Care Facilities Act’s (HCFA) requirements regarding photo identification badges in health care facilities

“It is a goal of mine to provide our health care systems with the best security,” said Twardzik. “This bill would help ensure the safety of our health care professionals and facilities.”

House Bill 2604 would amend Act 110-2010, which amended the HCFA to require photo identification badges for employees of a health care facility and of an employment agency who work in health care facilities. This bill would allow the name of the health system or the fictitious name (as registered with the Department of State) of a health care facility, health system or employment agency to be an acceptable name on a photo identification badge.
